Anambra Govt Engages Teachers With ICT Training Programme


Governor Willie Obiano has been extolled for equipping Secondary Schools Teachers with ICT knowledge and skills to enable them transform classroom learning experience for their Students.

Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha, gave the commendation during a two day training organised by State government for Secondary school teachers, on "Role of Digital Technology in Classroom" at Bubendorf Grammar School Adazi Nukwu in Anaocha Council Area.

Commissioner Omenugha represented by the Director of Technical and Vocational Education, Mrs Chioma Unachukwu, appreciated the efforts of Governor Obiano for impacting on the lives of officers, teachers and students with respect to ICT training and capacity building.

She commended the Governor for distributing computers to schools and equipping schools' laboratory and initiating training of teachers and students on ICT.

Professor Omenugha, noted that with the training, teachers will be able to do research and impact good ICT knowledge on the Students for greater advancement Of the Education System, urging the participants to make good use of the training.

In her address, the chairman Post Schools Service Commission, Lady Joy Ulasi, who said that the State will never be found wanting in ICT, urged the teachers to grab whatever that is taught them to develop themselves intellectually to harness gains of digital Technology to transform teaching and learning.

In his key note address, the Managing Partners of the training Consultants, Mr Kosiso Anaekwe, explained that the training program will go a long way to expose, motivate and reinvigorate the teachers with contemporary digital skills to transform classroom teaching and learning as according to him, digital knowledge improves employment and encourages entrepreneurship.

In a vote of thanks, a teacher, Mrs Uche Ikegbunam, appreciated the efforts of the Stakeholders in Education for organising the training for them and promised on behalf of others to make judicious use of the knowledge garnered to equip their Students as well as complement the state government’s efforts in training them in digital technology.
