MASSOB Warns GTB Board Over Playing Pawn Against Innoson

The leadership of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Saturday condemned what it called “the increased and incessant pressures and attack on the person of Chief Innocent Chukwuma, who is the chief executive of the Innoson Group of Companies by the sponsored management of the Guarantee Trust Bank”.

In a press release forwarded to journalists in Awka, MASSOB noted: “Ndigbo will never allow any coerced or envious subjection on Innoson Group of Companies or the Proprietor.”

The group therefore frowned at the recent court decision declaring Chief Chukwuma wanted. It saw same to have been in bad fate, hence unacceptable to Ndigbo.

The statement, which was signed by the MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, stressed that “the judge must not impose the desires of the enemies of economic and technological developments in Nigeria.

“This is because of acute and unrepentant jealousy against Ndigbo. The more the oppressors of Ndigbo vent their frustration and envy, the more Ndigbo are developing more technological feats.

“The likes of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company is the pride of other African countries and developing nations. Ndigbo and unbiased citizens must jealously protect Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company.

“MASSOB therefore declared that attack on Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company and its owner as an attack against Ndigbo. We shall never tolerate or keep silent on this wickedness against Igbo enterprises.

“We shall never allow this insult against our creativities go unpunished. The Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) and their collaborators against Ndigbo are blind to see the dangers and bad effects their action against Chief Innocent Chukwuma will bring to them.”

Consequently, “MASSOB advised Ndigbo and all Biafrans to disconnect and close every banking transactions, businesses and involvement with the Yoruba owned Guarantee Trust Bank PLC as part of our civil disobedience against Nigeria state.

“MASSOB view this consciously systematic and intimidating actions of Security agents as a strategic grand plan to stifle the economic prowess of Biafrans. We say no to economic and industrial monopoly in Nigeria. This is another open evidence of vindication of our self-determination struggle for the actualisation and restoration of Biafra.

“MASSOB also wishes to remind the people of Biafra that since after the Nigeria Biafra war ended, Nigeria state have being devising both secretive and open means in frustrating the individual economy of the people of Biafra which resulted in Chief Eric Umeofia (Erisco foods) being frustrated out of Nigeria. Chief Cletus Ibeto (Ibeto group) was also frustrated out of business. While Dr Ifeanyi Ubah (Capital oil and Gas) has remained constantly harassed using the DSS and the EFCC.

“Now, it is Chief Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson Group of Companies). Federal Government is using Guarantee Trust Bank PLC as a cover up with the instrumentality of EFCC to Intimidate him.”
MASSOB, according to the statement, “observed that this same systematic frustrating of the economic development of Igbo land is what the Federal government used in killing PRODA, Enugu; ANAMCO Enugu; EMENE STEEL MILL, Enugu; NIGERCEM, Nkalagu; Standard Poly Plastic Industry (STANPOL), Umuahia; General Cotton Mill (GCM) Onitsha etc.”

“Now they are scheming to kill INNOSON Vehicles Manufacturing Company because he is an Igboman”, the statement added.

It would be recalled that Chief Chukwuma won a lawsuit against Guarantee Trust Bank at the Federal High Court, the matter that was struck out by the court for falsifications and lack of merit against Guarantee Trust Bank. Some shameless and myopic tribal leaders of contemporary Nigeria were now reviving this same matter.

Madu noted that “this intimidating and envious attitudes of Federal government of Nigeria against Chief Innocent Chukwuma has been the a political tradition of Nigeria government to frustrate the creativity and enterprising nature of Ndigbo.

MASSOB shall never forget in a hurry the intimidating and envious actions of Nigeria Federal government against Ibeto Cement Company, Dr Ifeanyi Uba of Capital Oil and Gas, Prof Nick Eze of Aulic Nigeria Ltd because they are Igbos.

“Ndigbo shall never relent, subdued or subjected to cowardice, unproductive and blocked brains because some of our brothers of other ethnic groups were often mischievous and uncomfortable with Igbo progress and industry.”

MASSOB, the statement revealed, “therefore advised the Afenifere and leaders of Yoruba land to inform the board of Directors of Guarantee Trust Bank PLC who are mainly the Yorubas to know that any attack against Ndigbo is an attack against the entire southern Nigeria which may jeopardize our collective interest”.
