Hon. Patrick Aniunoh Has Done It Again, As 62 Beneficiaries Get Scholarship Grants

It is painful when i see children dropping out from school because their parents couldn't continue with payment of school fees, therefore, I passionately took it upon myself to start the scholarship programme.

Hon. Patrick Aniunoh, the House Member representing Onitsha South 1, made the above remark at the presentation of scholarship grants to 62 successful beneficiary at Fegge, Onitsha, Yesterday.

Addressing the hundreds of parents, APGA party Stakeholders, dignitaries and residents, Hon. Aniunoh said being the first APGA legislator from the constituency, he has brought plenty of positive development, something PDP and APC, are unable to achieve during their unproductive years of leadership.

"Outside our consistent scholarship scheme, we are doing roads too".

"Ukpor street is completed and more streets will be looked into" he said.

"God will keep us, what we do will be continuous and consistent and my prayer is that from these kids we train, we are going to have doctors and lawyers etc", he concluded.

Few of the parents of the beneficiaries who couldn't hide their feelings, expressed their joy for the human gesture shown by the legislator, whom they considered as the best thing that has happened to Onitsha South 1.

One of such parents, Mrs Ezeamama Uzoamaka, whose daughter first received her grant in JSS 3 and now in SS2, showered praises on Hon. Aniunoh for the scholarship scheme.

"I want to thank Hon. for the scholarship scheme. My daughter was among the first batch that benefited from the scholarship scheme and Hon. Paddy has promised to maintain the scholarship to any educational level she wished to attain" she enthused.

Then she was the overall best student both in English and Math. And Hon paddy promised to train her to any level in her educational pursuit.

She emphasised that Paddy relieved parents from heavy burden and therefore pray that he will reap the labour from the good seed he is sowing today (Yesterday).

Hon Aniuno's political mentor and the former APGA LG chairman in Onitsha south,Chief Sylvester Ezeokenwa (Ezeudo), spoke highly of Paddy, saying the attention he's giving to youth education is a novel one.

He encourage him not to relent as he continue to put smiles in the faces of family.

It may interest one to recall that In 2015, after the first holidays lesson for students put together by him, fifty best students in English,Mathematics and science subjects had their school fees paid in full.

And in 2016 and 2017 ,seventy five students and fifty students benefited from the scheme, respectively.

From the event, the general understanding is that Hon. Patrick Aniunoh as surpassed all expectations and that his goodwill for the constituency will carry him to the next level.

An investment in education is a worthwhile one and thanks to Hon. Patrick Aniunoh, one of the few legislators, whose heart beats for his constituency.
