Igwe also bemoaned the unavailability of offices in almost all the wards visited, explaining that offices are the first step to bringing dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

“It is only someone with foresight that can attract development in the rural areas. I am not waiting until I assume leadership position before I improve my community”, he said.

“I’ve had meeting with some EU representatives recently and that’s due to my relationship with some international bodies and by His Grace we are reaching an agreement to bring some investment down to my constituency” he explained.

Igwe praised the governor for tackling security issue in the state, because according to him that was the key thing that inspired him to come down home and establish.

At Umuokpu ward, the story wasn’t different, the renowned technocrat, gave insight to the ward executives of what leadership is all about.

“We must engage our indigenous craftsmen and artisan to service the community and by doing so money is kept in circulation” he pointed out.

He solicited for support in taking the constituency to an enviable height, saying that he alone can’t do.

Mr Uchenna Obiako, APGA Chairman Umuokpu Ward, validated Igwe’s remark, saying that he’s an upright young man whose past goodwill to the people of his community speak volume.

Hon. Nkem Chris Echatalu, Local Organization Secretary, Awka, in giving vote of thanks, promised Chief Emeka Igwe that the ward executive and even the entire Umuokpu people are solidly behind him.

The only ward with an office, Agu-Awka ward, was the last place visited by Emeka Igwe and his team.

The elated executive, led by the Chairman, Chidi Nwoye, said Emeka’s visit showed that there is light, after all, at the end tunnel, for the constituency.

Given them a glimpse of what his leadership would look like if elected, Emeka revealed that town hall meetings will be held quarterly to access his work and also deliberate on issues that might be confronting the constituency.

Finally, Lady Chinwe Mesue, affirmed that Igwe displayed a rare quality that is missing in leadership, and therefore deserved all the support he needed.

From the 3 wards visited, it was unanimously agreed by that Emeka Igwe was the right choice and will support his candidature for the State House of Assembly.

Each wards were gifted with hundreds of plastic seats and tables.
