11 Technical Colleges In Anambra Receive Accreditation From NBTE

The State Government has restated its commitment to improving the living standards of the citizenry as well as the economic fortunes of the State.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta stated this in Awka during a post EXCO briefing.

Ogbuefi Nnachetta disclosed that the State has received accreditation of the National Board for Technical Education across eleven technical colleges for eleven trade courses, sixteen of which were fully accredited while two were partial, adding that it is a culmination of a four year effort in revitalizing the technical and vocational education sector in Anambra state.

The Commissioner noted that the State government has invested and installed brand new Biology, Physics and Chemistry independent laboratories in sixty secondary schools across the State, adding that government has approved the immediate recruitment of one hundred teachers for technical schools, five hundred for secondary schools and five hundred for primary schools.

On the Public Health Centres, Ogbuefi Nnacheta, said government has also approved the recruitment of about three hundred junior staff and the deployment of a unique tricycle ambulance to ensure that each Public Health Centre delivered additional capacity linked to the Anambra Health Insurance Scheme for an efficient and effective health delivery in the State.

The Commissioner further disclosed that government is remodeling it's Monitoring and Evaluation function areas to increase value for money, results for sustainable assurance of quality performance, timely reports and financial controls, adding that government is committed to the asphalting of at least forty road projects, totaling one hundred and twelve kilometres before the rainy season ,adding that all contractors handling the projects have been fully mobilized to site.

He equally pointed out that government has continued to monitor the security in the state, warning against bush burning and requests Ndi Anambra to remain on alert during this harmattan season.

Ogbuefi Nnachetta equally said that government is happy with the maturity and understanding between the cattle herdsmen and their host communities in the seventy-six locations where they are residing in the State.
