Mrs Obiano Mourns Step Father Late Nwanoka


The wife of Anambra State Governor , Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano says equal treatment of children in a family solidifies the love and peace among members of the household.

Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, made the assertion at the burial ceremony of her step father, late Chief Sylvanus Anyadioha Nwanoka, at Okwuzi village Egbema, Onelga LGA of Rivers state.

 The Governor's Wife recalled her relationship with her late step father, saying that the unconditional and equal love and care he showered on her and her step siblings gave her total sense of belonging in the family, and described him as a blessing, praying God to grant his soul eternal repose.

Earlier in a message, the District Overseer of Four Square Gospel Church, Mgbuoba, Port Harcourt branch, Reverend Sylvester Itobiye, who spoke on the topic "Death is real" charged Christians to always live a life that would earn them eternal rest as death is inevitable.

Reverend Itobiye, described the deceased as a true Christian who wholeheartedly served God with his talents and resources advising the children to toe his steps.

Speaking to reporters, a former Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Emeka Sibeudu, thanked God for a fulfilled life, praying Him to console the family he left behind, even as he urged the children to trust God in all things as He knows the best.

On their part, some of the in-laws of the deceased from Ogbunike, including the Chairman, Anambra State local government Service Commission, Sir Peter Egenti and the President- General of Ogbunike Community, Engineer Nnamdi Nwadiogbu, who narrated their experiences with late Chief Nwanoka, described him as an epitome of kindness and humility and called on his family to take solace in the fact that he is resting in the bosom of the Lord.

Also Speaking, the Transition Committee Chairman, Ekwusigo local government, Engineer Ikenna Ofordeme, encouraged the Governor's wife and siblings not to weep like those without hope, as according to him, their father died a fulfilled man and at a ripe age of eighty-two.

The burial which featured special renditions by the Choir was well attended by top government functionaries led by Governor Willie Obiano.
