Anambra Partners World Bank On N1.2Bn Obizi Water Scheme Project

The State government in partnership with the World Bank is spending about 1.2 billion naira to reactivate the Obizi Water Scheme, Uga.

Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this at Ekwulobia Township Stadium when he inaugurated his reelection campaigns in Aguata Council Area.

Governor Obiano who noted that the project is the biggest water scheme in the State, explained that when completed, it will reticulate water up to 50 kilometers across 45 communities in Aguata and neighbouring local government areas.

The Governor further announced that his government is upgrading the power transmission substation at Nibo from 30 MVA to 60 MVA to serve the Aguata areas.

Acknowledging that Ndi Aguata has been loyal to his administration, Governor Obiano urged them to continue with their solidarity with him, assuring them of better dividends in his second term.

The Chairman of the Governor's re-election Campaign Committee, Chief Victor Umeh observed that it is only APGA that is embarking on grassroot campaign because the party believes in true democracy.

In their separate remarks, a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and a political stalwart in the area, Chief Oliver Asiegbu maintained that Ndi Aguata have been sensitized and are ready to vote and protect their votes in the upcoming election.

The member representing Aguata One constituency in the State Assembly, Dr Ikechukwu Umeh and his Aguata Two constituency, Mr Ikem Uzoezie pointed out that because Governor Obiano came prepared with a development blueprint, it was easy for him to achieve so much within a short period, assuring him that Ndi Aguata are solidly behind him.

Earlier in a welcome speech, the Transition Committee Chairman of the Council Area, Mr Eche Ezeibe while enumerating what the Governor has done for them, stressed that they are not only giving him their votes because of that but also because his candidacy will ensure that power successfully comes to Anambra South Senatorial District in the next four years.
