Work In Full Swing In Anambra Civil Service After Public Holiday


Workers in various Ministries and Parastatals in the state have resumed duty in earnest after observing a public holiday to mark the fifty seventh Independent Anniversary.

Correspondent Nneka Anoliefo who monitored the resumption of work reports that when the ABS arrives the post primary school service commission at about eleven o’clock in the morning some staff were seen seated in their different duty posts and departments.

Some of the staff including Barrister Felix Uzo and Mrs Ijeoma Obiajulu explained that the holiday was a busy one as they attended the flag off of Governor Obiano’s re-election campaign to give him the desired support to enable him emerge victorious, assuring that they will put in their best at work.

The Chairman Post Primary School Service Commission Lady Joy Ulasi expressed satisfaction with the attendance of staff to work after the holiday, calling on them to be hard working and discipline noting that there is no short cut to success.

When ABS arrived the Jerome Udorji Secretariats, staff at the office of the Head of service, Administrative and Establishment departments among others were all seated attending to their work respectively.

Some of the staff including Amaka Jossiah Okoli and Ekenechukwu Okafor expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the holiday, assuring that they will put in their best to achieve the desired goals.

Speaking to the ABS in an interview, the Head of Service, Barrister Harry Udu noted that he attended the usual match past and the Governor’s campaigns flagg off ceremony which was done showcase his stewardship to the citizenry, describing the holiday as a busy one.

He expressed satisfaction with the attendance of staff to work, advising them to re- dedicate themselves to duty as well as shun truancy.
