More Stakeholders Reaffirm Support For Obiano's Re-election


More stakeholders have reaffirmed their commitment towards returning Governor Willie Obiano and his running mate Dr Nkem Okeke back to Government House come November 18th 2017.

The speeches formed part of the activities which featured during the flag off the re-election campaign of Governor Obiano at the Dr Alex Ekwueme square in Awka.

The event which was attended by over five hundred thousand APGA faithful in and outside Anambra featured among other things presentation of life cocks as the symbol of the party.

In his speech, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Chukwuma Soludo said that under APGA, Anambra is speedily rising to be among the top five largest economy in Africa, not that allowing the Governor to complete his second term would sustain such development.

According to Professor Soludo who summed his reasons for backing the APGA flag bearer under six points, charged Ndi Anambra not to jeopardize the eleven years of unbroken development in the state made possible by the ruling APGA party in the state, .

Speaking on behalf of the women, a former Deputy Governor, Dame Virgy Etiaba noted that women who constitute over seventy percent of the electorate have endorsed Governor Obiano for the fact that he is promoting quality education for the children to put an end to early marriage.

The APGA Governorship candidate for Abia state in 2015 general election, Dr Alex Oti, said that Anambra is lucky to have the right leadership which has made the state the envy of other South Eastern states, urging the state electorate not to make the mistake of plunging Anambra backwards by casting their vote to another party.

On his part, the National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi who spoke on behalf of the Anambra community in the North, and the Hausa community in Anambra State said that plans by other parties to truncate the rotational formula of leadership as enthroned by APGA since 2014 cannot work, calling on ndi Anambra not to be deceived by money bag politicians.

The Member representing Oyi /Ayamelum Federal constituency in the House of Representatives Honourable Gabriel Onyenwife said National Assembly from the state are solidly behind him and charged the electorate to guard their voters cards and monitor distribution of election materials and results on the election day.

Speaking on behalf of the twenty one Transition Committee chairmen in the state, the Transition Committee chairman for Oyi local government area Mr. Uche Okafor emphasised that any form of rigging by any political party will meet a very strong resistance.
