Victor Umeh Education Scholarship Foundation Disburses N9M To Beneficiaries

A total sum of nine million naira has been disbursed as school fees and book allowance to the beneficiaries of the Victor Umeh Education Foundation Scholarship for the new academic session.

The amount was distributed at a special event at Aguluzigbo Anaocha council area, the country home of the former National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA Chief Victor Umeh.

Disbursing the sum, Chief Umeh who is also the Chairman of the Willie Obiano Re-election Committee, said he placed priority on the scholarship scheme for the, past ten years because of his understanding that it is better to invest in human beings.

He stated that about seventeen people graduated from the scholarship scheme in the past academic session and called on the mammoth crowd to continue to support the present administration especially in its second term bid.

Earlier in a homily during a special mass to mark the event, Reverend father Sixtus Aguinam who was once a beneficiary of the Victor Umeh Foundation Scholarship Scheme, praised Chief Umeh for understanding that investing in education remains the best choice.

The scholarship scheme covers students in primary, secondary, undergraduate and post graduate levels of education with about twenty students admitted this session.

The event attracted the Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Diaspora Affairs, Barr Stella Onuorah, Member representing Anaocha one Constituency, Chief Azubuike Okoye, Transition Committee Chairman of Anaocha Local Government Area, Mr Ikeobi Ejiofor, the State Chairman of Ohaneze Ndiigbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, and other top government officials.
