Obiano Dismisses Opposition Antics, Restates Commitment To Achieve Vision

Governor Willie Obiano says the November 18th governorship election in the state is not about him but about the survival of the soul of APGA.

The Governor was speaking at a crucial meeting of APGA stakeholders in the state held at Amawbia at the instance of the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye.

The meeting brought together APGA Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas, party chairmen of the 326 wards in the state, 70 members of the State executive Committee of APGA and 87 statutory members of the Party including members of the National Working Committee, Board of Trustees, state House of Assembly, among others.

Addressing the assemblage, Governor Obiano said APGA as the party in power in the state, is waxing stronger and no antics of the opposition will derail its focus, adding that the challenge of securing victory for the party in the upcoming guber election is a task that will be accomplished.

According to him, the advent of APGA in the state governance has brought about a paradigm shift from the backwardness which the State has suffered in the hands of certain political parties and the momentum has not changed under his watch.

While noting that his government has done so much to better the lot of Ndi Anambra in the period it had lasted, Governor Obiano charged the party leaders to equip themselves with information on the achievements of his government to be able to convince others to support the party.

Governor Obiano further charged the ward chairmen to embark on aggressive grassroot mobilization and broker Inter-Party alliances that will achieve victory for the party, assuring them that he will support them towards realizing their mandate.

The APGA National Chairman, Chief Oye in his remarks, said the meeting is part of the party's strategy to keep its grassroot leaders in tune with the government and to ensure that there is coordination in the efforts to return the Governor for a second term in office.

Chants of solidarity for the Governor by the party members formed the highpoint of the event.
