IPAC Prepares Debate For Anambra Guber Candidates, Tasks INEC On Equity And Fairness

The State chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to provide a level playing ground for all political parties in the November gubernatorial election.

The Chairman of the group ,Prince Bartho Igwedibia made the call when he led some members of the executive for a courtesy visit on the Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service , Nze Uche Nworah in Awka.

Prince Igwedibia who is also the State Chairman of Accord Party said the visit is to seek partnership with the ABS as it hold it's gubernatorial debate for governorship candidates and their running mates expected to hold between the third and fifth of October, emphasizing that INEC must provide a process that will engender the emergence of the best choice for Anambra people.

The IPAC Chairman noted that the debate will grant all the candidates the opportunity to tell the people of the State what they have for them, maintaining that the group stands for the entrenchment of good governance in the State.

Contributing, the Chairman of the Debate Organizing committee, Mr. Toochukwu Uyanwa who also doubles as the State Chairman of Young Democratic Party, YDP said the debate will give Anambra people the highest platform to make the best choice as well as calling on all candidates in the election to carry out issue based campaigns.

Responding, the Managing Director of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah assured that as a public service broadcasting organization, it will partner the initiative to give a platform for Ndi Anambra to be educated on the different parties’ manifestoes and progammes.
