Anambra Police Command Arrest 30 Suspects For Robbery, Cultism

Eight armed robbery suspects and twenty-two persons suspected of engaging in cultism have been paraded by the State Police Command.

Items recovered from them were three hundred and thirty-six rounds of AK forty-seven live ammunition, three empty AK forty-seven rifle magazine one locally made double barrel pistol, with two live cartridges, IPOB wears , ATM cards and charms.

Parading the suspects at the State Police Command headquarters at Amawbia, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar, said two of the suspects, Peter Onyebuchi and Nnaemeka Ugwuokpe are members of a six man gang that were responsible for the attack and killing of a Policeman at nipping points and robberies at some filling stations across the State, last month.

The State Police boss who revealed that Kenneth Chimezie is a member of another gang that uses motorcycles to rob innocent citizens, noted that the suspect led the team of Police operatives to their trainers hideout.

He however stated that the suspects have confessed to the crime and are assisting the police in their investigations.

Confessing to the crime, Peter Onyebuchi Ali who claimed to be a trader at building materials Ogidi, accepted that the AK forty-seven rifle recovered from his house, belongs to his friend Trigger who according to him was packing out from his house.
