Ozubulu Church Attack: Deputy Gov. Okeke Advocates Counselling For Children Who Witnessed The Attack


Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, has made a case for counseling of children present during the Ozubulu saga last Sunday.

Dr Okeke was speaking while receiving in audience, at the Government House, Awka, the Anambra State Chapter of the Guidance and Counsel Association of Nigeria.
Dr Okeke, explained that the incident on its own is traumatic for adults who were at the scene, more so children.

He described the role of Counselors in the Country as critical, emphasizing the need for people to take it more seriously due to its boundless merits.

Dr Okeke, who commended the group for gathering themselves together, noted that associations coming together, make for cross-fertilization and sharing of thoughts and ideas to tackle problems.

Earlier, the State Chairman of the Association, Dr. Albert Onyebuchi, said that the group is a professional body, founded since nineteen seventy four, and expressed strong desire to partner State government, as according to him, the mechanisms at their disposal is capable of transforming youths by way of behavioral modifications and development, as well as influence them towards proper career choices.

Dr Onyebuchi who stressed that Governor Willie Obiano's coming on board has made the difference in all sectors of the State’s economy, by the growth recorded, prayed God to grant him the zeal and resources to accomplish his vision for the State.

While stressing that over three hundred members of the group in the State are solidly behind the Governor for a second term in office, Dr Onyebuchi also used the medium to bring to mind, their forthcoming Counselors’ International Conference from twenty first to twenty fifth August, 2017, saying that people from within and outside the Country are enthusiastic to come.

Present at the occasion were some principal officers of the Association.
