Harvard-educated Hollywood Filmmaker Throws Weight Behind Obiano

US-based filmmaker, Odera Ozoka, has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State.

Ozoka, who’s currently in the country scouting location for his upcoming film on Biafra titled ‘A Forgotten Place,’ says that his decision to back the incumbent governor is based on the latter’s populist programmes in the state.

Ozoka was the guest speaker at the recently held Youth Stakeholder gathering for Obiano’s re-election campaign in Awka.

The event which drew over 2, 000 youths from across the Local Government Areas in Anambra was a medium for the Harvard-educated filmmaker to voice his support for youth empowerment and engagement into politics.

He urged the government to open more avenues for entrepreneurial youths to flourish in the state.

He also spoke with Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu about his upcoming film project which focuses on the Biafran civil war.

The award-winning filmmaker also had a session with the Deputy Governor of the state, Nkem Okeke, on arts and culture in Anambra, and his film company’s devotion to developing local talents and culture across the state.

Odera, who won an Africa Movie Academy Award back in 2010 for his first feature film, Soul Diaspora, is a Hollywood based-Nigerian film maker.
