Good Bye Agụ n'eche Igbo, "He Was A Fearless And Courageous Leader" - Gov Obiano

As the Funeral rites in honour of late Chief Kenneth Okonkwo commenced today, the Governor of Anambra State , Chief Willie Obiano has commiserated with his family at Enugwu Village, Umuawulu, in Awka South local government area of the State.

Condoling the family during a Special Service of Songs at his compound this evening, Gov Obiano described the deceased as a fearless and courageous leader who discharged his duties diligently, no matter whose ox is gored.

The obviously heavy-hearted governor said his death was a big loss, as he had contributed enormously to the development of Anambra State.

While praying for the repose of his soul, the governor called on his family not to be despondent, as God would give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

On his part, the Traditional Ruler of Nibo, HRH Igwe Eze Ngene commended Gov Obiano for the confidence bestowed on late Kenneth Okonkwo to share a part in his administration.
Igwe Ngene disclosed that late Okonkwo, also known as Agunecheigbo restored sanity and cleanliness, especially in every market across the state.

The traditional ruler explained that "for one to execute his duties diligently, he must tread on people's toes, thereby attracting hatred to himself"

The traditional ruler who consoled the family said the deceased had completed his task on earth and died at the appointed time.

Earlier in his homily, the Governor's Chaplain, Rev Fr Patrick Okafor urged Christians to always be ready and live a righteous life, so as to face death with happiness at any given time.

Late Okonkwo who passed on in a fatal accident at the age of 45 was the Managing Director/Superintendent General of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra State (OCHA BRIGADE).

The funeral rites continue today at his hometown, Umuawulu.
