Anambra Assembly Speaker Calls For Strict Implementation Of Child's Right Law


As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s International Day of the African Child , the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Rita Maduagwu has called on government at all levels to implement the Child Rights Act to reposition the future of the children of the country.

In her message to mark the day, Barrister Maduagwu enjoined schools, churches, families and other agents of socialization to take moral and academic training of children seriously in order to make them responsible members of the society.

The speaker, who strongly condemned all forms of child abuse, appealed to parents to respect and enforce the rights of their children especially rights to quality life and comfort.

She enjoined wealthy individuals to contribute to the wellbeing of children in their midst by offering scholarship and other assistance to them.
