Security Of Ndi Anambra Is My Prime Agenda - Says Obiano

The Anambra state governor, Chief  Willie Obiano has said that the present administration under his watch would continue to ensure maximum security for Ndi Anambra,in extentipn to support poised all positive pursuits and efforts towards ensuring that the South East geo-political zone was free from all criminal activities and other forms of violence .  

The Governor revealed this when he received the Deputy Inspector -General of Police(Research and Planning),Val Mtomchukwu, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia.

The DIGs visit was in continuation of his tour of Police formations in the SouthEast geopolitical zone.

The governor in his address after a closed door meeting with the DIG and his team, said their delibrations were anchored on what can be done to improve the efficiency of officers and men of the State command and ways  the Federal government can assist towards better welfare package for them.

He noted that the Police working together with in synergy with other security agencies, remains the major propeller that engineers thriving security successes in the state. That through their immeasurable sacrifices and efforts, Anambra was now the most secured state in the country.

Chief Obiano who recalled that he had earlier in the life of his administration convened a regional Security Summit to initiate a collaborative approach among the SouthEast and Delta States in the fight against crime, assured that Anambra will not hesitate to avail the police every necessary support it requires to ensure that the objectives were realized.

The DIG explained that the visit was in line with the efforts of the Force headquarters aimed at reviewing the operational strategies of all its State commands. He said he was in Anambra on the orders of the Inspector General, Mr Ibrahim Idris to familiarize himself with what the command was doing and to seek the continued support of the state government towards their work.

He appreciated Gov Obiano's efforts and support and formation of synergy between the police and other security agencies that drastically reduced criminal activities to the bearest minimuim in the state.

The Police Chief emphatically described Anambra as the safest state in the country.

The DIG solicited for continued support and partnership of the State Government led by Gov Obiano in ensuring sustenance of strategic, proactive security tempo achieved so far. He urged for the extension of  such strategies to other states in the South East zone.
