Democracy Day : Anambra Assembly Speaker Tasks FG On S/East Federal Roads

As Nigerians Celebrate Democracy Day today, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Rita Maduagwu, says the country needs fervent prayer to surmount the political and economic challenges facing the masses.

In her goodwill message to mark the Day, Barrister Maduagwu, enjoined various religious bodies to always remember the government and people of the country in prayer, noting that with collective efforts of the Nigerian citizens, the country would record more achievements in all sectors of the nation’s economy.

The Speaker who decried the marginalization of Ndigbo in the scheme of things in the country, called on the Federal Government to commence the re-construction of all Federal roads in the South-East Zone as part of their share of the nation’s democracy dividends.

She urged politicians in the country to play politics according to the rules and shun selfishness and corruption which she said, are the negative attributes that have held the country hostage for many years.

Barrister Maduagwu also enjoined Ndi Anambra to reciprocate Governor Willie Obiano’s good governance in the State by giving him the necessary support to achieve his second term bid.
