Awka North Transition Chairman, Hon Lawrence Onwuzuka Donates Salary To Less Privilege In The Local Council.

The chairman of Awka North LGA on Monday 22nd of May 2017, donated all the salaries that will accrue to him throughout his tenure as the TC chairman of Awka North to the less privilege in the council area. 

Hon Onwuzuka announced this gesture during the meeting of Awka North stakeholders of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) at the council secretariat Achalla.

Addressing the bemused stakeholders at Achalla, the chairman made it known to government appointees,  party Faithful and traditional rulers at the meeting and I quote "my appointment as the transition committee chairman of the council area is to serve the people and to alleviate the suffering of the masses" 

He disclosed that the beneficiaries will be drawn from all the wards in the Ten communities that made up the local government area. Hon Lawrence E Onwuzuka also emphasised that he has source of income before he was called to serve his people, so therefore his business will continue to sustain him and his family,  hence the donation of his wages to those that needed it most.

Hon Onwuzuka further stated that, apart from the less privilege, that he is also extending the legacy to all the ward party chairmen and some local government party executives in Awka North, this he explained will enable them to serve in their various positions optimally.

In their separate speeches Hon Chikaodi Anara,  Special Adviser to Gov Willie Obiano on security matters and Hon G. C. Ezenagu (Ochendo) who is the Chairman of Anambra State Housing Development Corporation, thanked the TC chairman for his kind gesture, a fit never seen before since the creation of Awka North. They further spoke on the needs for people of the area to come out en mass to register for the ongoing Continues Voters Registration Exercise, this they emphasised that will help boost the voting strength of the council area so they can be able to elect more people like Hon Lawrence Emeka Onwuzuka.

Also fielding questions from the stakeholders Hon Nchekwube Anthony who is the State Auditor of APGA spoke on some of the challenges people encounter during the voters validation exercise and ways to mitigate them, He also charged the party ward Chairmen to mobilise people of their wards to come out and register.
