The present government of Anambra state has restated its resolve to massively embark on all dilapidated roads in the state, especially the agrarian roads that would enhance exportation of goods to different states so as to cement the economic viability of the State.
This was disclosed when the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano inspected the on going road construction at Achina-Oneh-Ogboji-Ogbodu roads, in Aguata and Orumba south respectively.
Inspecting the 5 km roads, Governor Obiano said his administration would always spring up developments that would be beneficial to the people of the state, regardless of the present economic crunch.
Governor Obiano noted that every arrangement had been finalized for the exportation of 5 million tubers of yam to the United States of America, adding that some personnel had been sent for training for commercial production.
The Governor urged the people to register in many cooperative for commercial yam production.
He expressed satisfaction to the level of construction , urging the contractors handling the roads to facilitate the projects, as the state would always finance every project.
In his reaction, the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka, Dr Jonas Benson expressed gratitude to the Governor for embarking on roads, saying the roads when completed would traverse the four communities and boost economic activities in the area.
The President General of the Oneh community, Mr Uchenna Maduike said the community had in the past moved a motion for his second tenure.
